17.5" from center of wheel to bottom of flare in the front. 17" in the back. Those are stock measurements on a non-UpCountry Jeep. Upcountry should have been 1" over that. If you have a 3" lift, then it was done aftermarket, and your arms are not OEM.

I tried to edit my last post, and lost it. Was going to say, worst I was ever stuck was in 24 inches of snow, where we shoveled 3/4 mi up the hill with a deer on top. the punch line is "and the snow pushed the radiator right out of it's frame, but we made it out"
Thanks for the measurement info, I know the lift is greater than that,,,so I will look for an after market solution.

Yup,it's tasty!
We brought two nice buck out of the hole one year. The deer pushed the roof of my jeep down about six inches, rain filled the roof with water, so I think we got an extra 20 pounds of water weight at the scales. It was so much fun, and those deer tasted good too.
I've had 5 XJ's, including the 3 I've got now. Great fun beating around the woods in those over the years.

I have several XJ's, one with a lift. It's name is Big Silvia and it is a 2001 Cherokee Classic. It has several options that I think are "factory". Based on these really cool options, and research when i first got it, I have believed the lift was a "factory" option called upcountry suspension. Now I need bushings replaced in the front lower suspension arm, and the bushings that come in don't fit my jeep, Big Silvia. They would fit my other two XJ's of the same year. So......my big jeep, Big Silvia, has suspension arms that are made of round stock. The other jeeps have arms made of channel stock. Here's a couple questions I hope someone can answer: does the 2001 XJ have a "factory" lift option that could lift my jeep about 3 inches? If so, would that modification replace the original front lower suspension arms with replacements as described above?
This jeep has stolen my heart and I want to keep it in tip top shape. If the lift is not factory, then my love for it is misguided, based on a lie I told myself years ago. Jeep love is a powerful force, but a non factory lift could send me to the Dark Side.
I'm new to this "posting Threads", so let me know what more I need to include.

and the headlights are also aftermarket.
there is still a chance that it may have been bought new from the dealer like that. but, the mods would have been done after delivery to the dealer.
example: My shop builds up new JK's for local dealerships (3-4" lift, 33-35" tires, and many other small options that we install for the dealers). and they are sold as a package like that from the dealer.

Thanks, my question is answered, thanks very much. It's okay, knowing it is aftermarket will make it easier to let it go when it is time to sell. That warm fuzzy feeling is just a little less warm and fuzzy. Hopefully my mechanic can find some numbers on the suspension arm, so I can get new bushings.

I think I got a picture (resized) to load on this site, of Big Silvia, in her natural habitat. You guys might like to know, I have added an extra leaf spring to the rear, and gone to 6 ply rated tires on all 5 XJ's I've owned. It helps me tow and carry loads, it increases the stabilty on the road and it levels the jeep so it looks more level. Only downsides are a harder ride, and less control on washboard roads. Enjoy the picture.

I finally got those suspension arms replaced. We took your advice freedgr, and found some at an add on store. They measured about 1/8 off, but they work fine. My tires are cupped, probably from running with the bad bushings. Not a big deal, but I can feel it. I was driving my other favorite XJ while big silvia was in the shop, so the tire vibration really stands out in comparison, now that I'm back driving her. Thanks again. A picture of big silvia is in the photo album, I don't know how to get it to show to the left of the post like you guys do.
