xj has no power

Default xj has no power

I took my xj muddin just over a week ago and I got stuck and had water up to the bottom of my doors. so my cat got filled with water and mud and im runnin no muffler and you can't hear my exhaust anymore. when I push the gas to the floor it has no *****. so it has no power no matter how I step on the gas. can anyone tell me what's wrong? need help asap. thanks

take the cat off and see if that fixes the problem most likely its cloged not letting the pressure escape causing lack of power

Thats right.

Cat is plugged/ruined. It is full of tiny honeycomb shaped passages. Thousands of them.

Replace it and your engine can exhaust again.

yep exactly thats probly all you will have to do to get it runnin again

I cut my cat off today just to see if id get my power back and now it runs better than it used to =) and it doesnt shift hard anymore either. thanks for the help guys

You need to install a replacement cat now.

I don't have to actually.. no emissions in mesa county. but I prolly will cause I don't like having my check engine light on because I unplugged my O2 sensor. but it can wait a little bit lol

The info from the O2 sensor is needed by the ECM, and I wouldn't leave it unplugged very long.

its only gonna be unplugged till friday. that's when im gonna get a new one. it'll be fine till then
