Default Xj coolant leaks

Hi, so I have an 88 Renix standard tranny. I have a very slow coolant leak from the rear of the engine and I can't seem to find where it is. Could this be a hose? Or maybe a gasket? It looks like it's right above where the tranny mates with the block.

Thanks

The 4.0 has a freeze plug on back of the cylinder head and another on back of the block. It's likely one of these is leaking, from your description probably the one at the back of the cylinder head. Unfortunately neither of those freeze plugs are easy to get to.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't the freeze plug. It's a PITA to get to. My mechanic replaced all of them when my transmission was being replaced. Easiest way to get to the back one at least.

Oh yep, looks like the same amount that's leaking. Probably have to drop the ending for this huh? Also you guys know if it's behind a casing? Looks like something was bolted up over the one in this picture up there👆🏼
