1991 XJ 4.0 HO with AX-15,

My question is, does my jeep has rev limiter? Since I don't have a tachometer I really don't know if I'm at the red line or above/belove it.

It's not like I am going red line on a regular bass or anything, but I would really like to know the limits of my jeep. I have seen stock XJs with 5 speeds doing 35-40 mph in 1st gear, but I did not have the courage to get past even 30 in 1st because I don't know if there is a rev limiter and I don't want to damage the engine. I know autos have rev limiter, but I don't know if 5speeds have it or not.

Thanks!

I believe our rev limiter is the same mechanism as an acute spontaneous auto engine bay lubricator. (In other words, the engine explodes).

1st in 30 MPH should be safe. I have no idea what you'd want to do that though.

I have no idea why manuals were sold without tachs. You can swap one in if you like. I'm not sure exactly where the year break for cable driven speedo is or if Renix clusters are compatible.

I've got a 99 with an AX-15 and I think they do have a rev limiter but I may be mistaken. I was in 2 gear a month ago racing a ricer off the line(I beat it BTW) but I wasn't paying attention and nearly redlined in 2nd before my Jeep lurched and cut the rpms back. Thought I blew it but she's still running strong as ever. Scared the crap out of me though.

I haven't found a governor yet though...haha gotten it up to 110 before with no cut off.

I have tried to research how to clean injectors but most everything that comes up involves buying special cleaning fluid or an ultrasonic cleaner.
Is there a cheap DIY one with very basic tool. Ex: with carb cleaner or seafoam.

There is a 2000 xj that pulls into my dorm parking lot everyday. And it squeals like hell. Very high frequency squeal, not your regular belt squeal.

The hell could be causing it?

Could be wiring, fuse, relay, switch, or the motor itself. Does it do this on all settings?

Yes. A few writeups on fuel injector upgrades have a guide on it. You can use carb cleaner and wire up your own switch to open the injector up.

Some people use syringes and tubing and are able to use pressure from the aerosol can, I couldn't find anything of the right size so I built my own little setup

Take out the rear sway bar anyway, and you can make your own discos out of the front ones. Or pick up a pair. But ever since I got my front discos, I've been driving with them disconnected anyway. At first it seemed like a marshmallow, but now I like it. Off road they will let your jeep articulate better and be less stiff, if you're interested, with them disconnected you could flex out the rig.

No I actually got a uses pair from a forum member, I have the RC ones that some people don't like, but I think part of it is because they're RC. Anyways, jks seems to be the choice brand, they're expensive though, maybe look at the RE or teraflex, they seem like good middle ground. Here's a link, here's a picture, the idea is the same. Bolt with a drilled hole, or a cotter pin style application you bought from the hard wear store. There's a lot of ways to do it. Just like any set, you have to check the pins for rust or wear occasionally.
