The top nuts? Drop it down further. I had enough room to get a full size ratcheting wrench up there. It only moved two "clicks" at a time but it worked.

That bumper is 5 pieces. The 2 sides, the center box that everything bolts to, the top hoop and the winch plate.

Its a very simple design. Its all bolted together no welding. Start building a center winch box then build the sides and hoop off of that

Keep in mind your winch is the first point of contact if you hit a rock or stump.

Im going to use a 2" receiver and put the winch on a cradle to use on either end. I Just need a better idea of how they made theirs, or I guess I will just design my own...

which wrongler has the same D30 front axle as the XJ but low pinion?

I've got all the parts to make a HP D30 4:10 front axle foir my 2000 XJ but I keep seeing 4:10 TJ/YJ/JK front axles here for about $250.

Going to cost me at least $350 to have my 4:10 put in and then I still have to sandblast and paint and rebushing and ball jointing this D30 shell I have.
I'm NEVER going to see the rocks you guys in Moab see. Mostly Logging trails and river beds and 3 feet of snow so I'm now questioning the HP thing altogether

HP D30 is not just good to clear rocks.. The front driveshaft angle will be better with any amount of lift. Besides, reverse rotation gears are stronger than standard rotation when installed in the front.
All LP D30's gears ride on the coast side of the gear when driving forward. a 30% lost in strenght.
