Ok guys, got a pretty in depth question here...

Just had a 4.7L stroker I6 built for my '88 XJ. The guy who built it used a '93 head on it for better flow. I just bought a '99+ intake manifold off of eBay. In the description, he stated, "
This is a 99+ intake manifold for the 4.0L inline 6 cylinder that has been ported for better airflow. This is a must for stroker motors or just to help your stock motor breath a little better. It compliments air intakes and larger throttle bodies nicely. I'm including the power steering bracket with adjuster and the throttle cable bracket so this manifold can be installed on 98 and earlier 4.0 engines." So, what I want to know/ask is, will my power steering pump on/from my '88 XJ be straight to use with this '99+ PS bracket or will I have to get a PS pump from another year XJ and if so, what years will work?

I also noticed that it doesn't include the TB, but from what I've researched, I will need a '91-'95 TB because the MAP sensor isn't part of the TB in those years. If that's correct, what will it take to get the TB to work with my '88 Renix throttle cable and computer?

Last thing, did I cover everything and if not, what other issues should I expect?

dukie, huntingman, cruiser... feel free to cast your votes here. School me as I am just a newb on this stuff.

I've done the spectre tubing and just shoved it into the cowl and airbox and sealed up. Works fine and not blocking anything.

I've left my jeep on jack stands for days...weeks even. (4) jacks stands and no tires, on a concrete floor. I say concrete because once I left my boat and trailer on stands on asphalt for a couple of days while waiting on tires to come in. The hot summer days and soft asphalt let the stands sink into the asphalt 6" and dropped the axle of the boat trailer flush with the ground.
Stands IMO are just fine on concrete for as long as you need it....any other surface is to be considered carefully.

Are the rear driveshafts from a auto 242 and 231 the same length?

4 out of 6 spark plugs are real dark and dirty. What's the cause and what do I need to do about it?

Run a seafoam treatment through the throttle body and it will help clean all that out. Its better to do it with the older plugs so you dont gum up the new plugs.

Im still on the fence about going bigger than a 3" lift and needing an sye. Advance adapters offers different yoke styles. The basic one is the 1310 series cv style, will that work with an xj front shaft? Also would the junkyard shaft already be set up to put in? By that I mean, does it need to be balanced or anything like that? Im really not sure If I'd be able to properly install the sye. But who knows, I just would hate to be stuck with a screwed up transfercase.

Did you drill the hole into the cowl where the factory vacuum hose diagram is?

He's just talking about some hose, not the full intake. You remove the entire air box with the full kit.

Running pretty rich there! Take a look at MPG threads for fuel system related issues. O2s, MAP, CTS, etc

Im doing the same thing he is talking about I believe. Im going to drill a hole in the back of the airbox and another hole in the firewall then use the spectre tube to connect them.
