the way i'd do it. throw a relay/fuse in there somewhere too.

this allows it to come on with the stock reverse lights or a switch.

So basically wire like I normally would for a set of lights but splice into the stock harness too?

i have a 1988 jeep cherokee 4x4 and cant seem to troubleshoot it when in park and i stomp on the gas, no problem, but when it is in gear and i give and i stomp on it, it acts like it wants to stall (feels like driving with someone in a manual trans. that dont know how to drive). i know its a fuel problem but ive replaced the pump and filter, and no luck... also everytime i go to start it i always have to turn it over twice.
(stomp on it is a lil over kill of the word but the best i can think of to discribe it)

Might be the fuel pressure regulator. Located in the tank....

Probably fuse the switch leg.

On a 1988 i believe the fuel pressure regulator is on the fuel rail not in the tank like the new models.

Id rent a fuel pressure gauge from an autoparts store and check your pressure at the fuel rail. That will gibe you the pressure after the regulator.

XJ Ask the Question Thread-forumrunner_20121029_140248.jpg

What is that? On my fuel rail. Its a 99 4.0, I was thinking regulator, but I thought I read that was in the little "box" by the tank.

Rocker panel: What will a shop charge to weld it on?
You can buy a rocker panel for $50 or so.
I will just rattle can the thing to black myself.

Oh... so it works with my flux capacitor? Lol.

I have no idea what a pulse dampener does. Helps keep pressure consistent? Some of these things on the 99 are so foreign to me.

I'm not having issues or anything I just seen it and had a wtf moment.
