The key to keeping the fuel from dying a premature death is to not drive around with less than a quarter tank of gas all of the time. The fuel cools the pump. A cool pump is a happy pump. I fill my tank and refill once I hit a quarter tank. Changing the fuel filter on a regular basis helps too.

my buddy's jeep had a walbro in it from the factory. that's what I'd go with. their pumps hold up pretty well.

Be aware that there is a lot of fake WALBRO fuel pumps on the market this days.
I import fuel pumps to my country and lately all Walbro's I can get online are somehow a scam, a few months ago I moved to AEM fuel pumps, for around 100 dollars you can get one at ebay, and they have plenty more capacity than Walbro's or OEMs, and run for years without an issue on performance applications.

I don't really know about their fuel pumps but, Walbro makes a good carburetor for chainsaws.
