Synthetics have proven results , guess that's why a lot of vehicle manufactures use them these days .

Same. Their power steering stop-leak does work in a lot of instances, the fuel system cleaner is OK, the rest of it I'm not sold on. Especially the oil stabilizer garbage.

Same. The synth is nice in posi units as it doesn't normally require the additive, but that aside, differential technology hasn't changed much since 1930. It's about as low tech as it gets. No problems with dino oil.

I just switched to Royal Purple 75-90 and I noticed a big difference. It doesn't seem like the jeep is working as hard to move, and I know you cant really go by the overhead console numbers, but with 80-90 dino in the diffs I was averaging 17-19 MPG on the highway, whereas with the 75-90 Synthetic it's gone up to around the 22-25 range.

AGAIN, I know the overhead console numbers aren't what I should be going by, but it has to give some idea of the difference

This is also about the time refineries are switching over from winter blend to summer blend fuels in your area.

You might want to do some real world fuel mileage averages over 5 tanks of fuel.

Then you would have to wait till next winter to see if your mileage drops to what it was before the fluid switch in the differentials.

If you really did pick up 3-5 MPG with the fluid switch, you need to call the newspapers and TV stations.

im sure Mr Lucas would love to here about this. I would call them and talk to the customer service department. If you get no answers then ask for Forest Lucas. Im sure Its something in the oil as a extra additive. Ive love lucas products I have used the for years In my semi trucks in everything.

Same here the hub oil is the best . 1 gallon of stabilizer every oil change I had 1.5 million miles on my 3406 Cat.

Ok so I'm eating my words a tad bit here

So my parts store let Lucas oil know about the stuff in the bottom of the bottle and a representative from Lucas just gave me a call explaining what it was. Basically they changed the company who was putting the additive in the oil for a bit. Because of that change it caused the particles to form or not mix properly in the oil. When they found out about this they tried there best to recall all of that oil, but some still got out to the public. He gave me a apology and is actually coming buy to take the bottles for the chemist to analyze. They solved there problem and went back to there original additive.

So i guess Lucas ain't so bad..

That's good Mr Lucas don't want to put out a bad product. Ok story time.
When Forest Lucas started out it was in Corona Ca. He was handing cash to the truckers to deliver his products. And then only selling a pallet or 2 of his stuff. And the wallets he was using where not the best at all. He could of given up but pressed on. Now years later. You know the rest of the story.
If they made a bad product they wouldn't be around. So Im happy to here that they are helping you. There is lot of Lucas product being used every day. Like i said i use it all the time. Infact i have it in my xj using the break in oil for a new motor.

I know this was a few months ago but i wanted to chime in on my lucas experence. I was a little reserved of the oil stabilizer stuff untill my uncle and I drove his chevy 350 20 or so miles with zero coolant. Long story short radiator hose busted and he refused to leave the truck on the side of the road so kept driving. He is still driving the truck today and still adding a quart of oil stabilzer with every oil change. BTW this was 8 months ago.

Needless to say I'm a believer.

Out of curiosity, how do you know the result wouldn't have been the same without the Lucas?

I'm a believer too, in the 350 chevy. I drove one over 100 miles that was 4 quarts low on oil. I got home, added 4 quarts, and off I went. It didn't skip a beat. And this was over 10 years ago, we didn't have fancy oil additives. Just cheap 10w-40.

I use Napa Premium 80-85w-90 in my rear diff. Haven't changed my front yet. Seems to be of high quality and certainly no chunks. 8 bucks a quart
