Default WTF...The crank shaft pulley slide off..

So I'm pulling into my driveway when this horrendous noise happens, I imedietly shut her down, pop the hood to find the belt off, I dig a little deeper to find the crank shaft pulley slide forward ,the noise was the fan hitting it. What do I do now? HEELLPP!!!

is the bolt still on the crankshaft? If so then you need a new balancer. Mine walked in the towards the timing cover and danaged it...if your bolt is missing you MIGHT be able to get a new one (along with a new washer!)and bolt it back in...that said more times then not with the bolt missing then the crank may have to be re threaded with a new bolt and worse case you may need a new crank shaft (more then likely it can be rethreaded)
hope that helps

The bolt is still on, the pully slid up about an inch or so. I noticed some plastic or something showing in-between the pully. Does the motor need to be pulled to replace the balancer?

You need a NEW harmonic balancer. The rubber "ring" has rotted and allowed the outer pulley to slide forward. Be grateful that it didn't go BACKWARDS like mine did. Ate a hole in my front timing cover. Nasty NASTY project.

Replacing it is simple and can be done in a parking lot. Rent the puller, remove the large bolt, pull the balancer and reinstall with puller. DO NOT USE THE BOLT TO PUSH THE PULLEY BACK ON! You might strip the threads in the crank!!!

Be sure to use a large washer to press on! DO NOT press directly on the CRANKSHAFT nose. You WILL hose the threads for the bolt. Trust me on this. Its very soft and easy to damage.

No need to remove the radiator either. There is an access hole behind the front bumper. Should also replace the front seal while your in there.
