Default WOW HELP!

OK so today i was dropping my buddy off after he got out of work as he lives right up the street from me. Well he lives on a really bad blind driveway and as i was pulling out some old *** was going about 60 over the hill where it's a 30 I was about halfway through the lane when i saw him so i gunned it. Bad idea, when i did the leaf spring on the drivers side ripped off the frame and up through the floor... Does anyone have any clue how to fix this the spring is still in the shackle just not on the frame

I'll post Pics tomorrow it's like midnight right now.

that sounds bad.... ive never heard of that happening but you will probably have to weld on some reinforcements to the unibody and then put it all back together.

Raise and support vehicle with jackstand under frame. Remove rusted/broken spring hanger. You'll have to get a replacement spring hanger/frame section from a donor Jeep and have it welded in place of the rusted out piece. Fix hole in floor. Easier and safer to transplant your engine into a cheap, non-running Jeep.

Its rusted bad enough I would just set it off to the side for motor and what not parts and get a less rusted one. That is horrible.

Yeah but it's one of those things where, you've put so much work into it already.... Either way when we attempt to fix this one we're gonna reinforce the hell out of the other one. and probably weld an interior roll cage to it just to give it that much more strength

So your pretty much gonna re-do the whole underside of your rig? I still say parts truck it. But to each there own. Everything can be done.

well the biggest problem i'm having with it is that I can't find another XJ in the area that's not wickedly overpriced or has worse rust than mine does, i've been slowly getting rid of most of the rust. I'm stuck as of now

reinforce and weld the crap out of it is the best i can tell you, i kno i picked up some steel the other day for my rear bumper im gonna make and i payed 60 bucks for one bit of it but it would be enough to reinforce that tho.

Then put a cage in it and go to coil springs instead.

the coil springs would be awesome ive seen it done on different sites you might want to search naxja. if your gona have to redo the whole side anyway it probably wouldnt be too much more work and would be pretty wicked.
