haha...mobile 1 full synthetic only for me.. heard all the others..blah blah..thats another thread.

but I have confirmation of a ****ty situation..

spent the afternoon changing the radiator, thermostat, water pump..blah blah.

The came down to the money shot. I pulled the valve cover and looks like I been using mayonaise instead of oil....

funny thing is, none is in the pan...seems the white goop is secluded to the head portion of things(I hope)

I also was trying to find head markings I cannot find an "0331" marking.

But dead center I have what appears to be a "00" then towards the front NH1? i think.

The in the back right corner drivers side there is a 277? late and my back hurts so tomorrow I will be investigating further.

Can someone tell me though where to look for a crack. Id like to determin if this is just a head gasket or a cracked head.

Like I have said, Since I have owned it, i have never seen it overheat, always kept coolant, oil..ect to proper levels.

some symptoms I had previously.

Two cranks to start never verified but assumed either fuel pump/checkvalve or leaky injector.

Twice is stuttered on me on acceleration but only early morning when it was literally -20F outside.

heater hasnt been working great for about a month,

I also smelt antifreeze in the cab while running heater so I assumed heater core even though floorboard was never wet.

radiator was also leaking..so not sure if coolant loss over the past two weeks was from that or headgasket, heatercore or cracked head..

Kinda one of those deals where it seemed like everything crapped out all at once!!! so It makes diagnosis that much harder!

Mine I'm sure was from a little coolant, but not a leak. I remember we spilled a bit on top of the engine one day, so it probably got in through the (at the time) loose fitting oil cap. Washed it all down, but didn't think of any getting inside the valve cover. Now that I saw that stuff in there and you guys talking about coolant, it came back to me.

Drain the oil, let's see some pictures of that.

The crack appears between cylinders 3 and 4. Right in the middle. If it's that bad under the valve cover and that's the cause, I imagine you'd be able to see bubbling while it's running.

TUPY 0331 started appearing in 2003 WJs and TJs. A 0630 from a previous year will work too, you just have to figure out a different way to mount the coil rail

Think his bearings are wiped yet?

There's too many things going on with his Jeep that sounds like are getting seriously expensive real fast.

I think he needs to sell it, or jack up the radiator cap and run a new Jeep under it.

Damn, I have no idea what is going on in there.

What does the top of the head look like? Is the white crap every where? I think you should flush the cooling system and see what comes out as well.

Actually, I was kind of talking to salad in that post.

But codykrr, the OP, has serious problems.

I personally have spent a lot of money, probably too much, in the past trying to rescue lost causes.

Since this is codykrr's DD, he needs to get something that doesn't require major surgery quick.

If it was a hobby Jeep, he could spend more time and money on it if he wished.
