Would this d44 work in my XJ?
"This unit works perfect. Out of a Jeep TJ that I've owned since new. Removed and replaced this Posi-Trac with a selectable locker. Get this one for 1/3 the price of a new one! $150 OBO "
From craigslist, would this work for my XJ or no? Without a TON of modification that is. Thanks.

150 seems too cheap... what kind of selectable locker? Is the gear ratio correct?
Yes it could work, you would have to remove the mounts off of the axle and install leaf spring perches... and depending on how the shocks mount on a TJ you may have to relocate the shock mounts on the axle.
It's all dependent on do you have a welder or a buddy that does? and a little time...

the xj 44 is actually stronger than the tj 44...or just grab you a 8.25 29 spline. bolt in and nearly as strong.
are they including the selectable locker? seems too cheap to me as well...

That i do.. I might grab it. I am doing some engine work all winter as well. Might as well upgrade what I can cheaply. I have another thread on weather or not to stroke or throw in a 350, I am hoping for more replies there as that is the big project.
Thanks for the reply friend. I appreciate it.
