Default Work day.... Now need Help!?!?!?!

I had some issues to take care of on the XJ.
I had a slow fuel leak at an injector O-Ring.
So I replaced the O-Rings, first the Help Me rings from Autozone are trash.
So on to bumper 2 bumper for Standard brand rings.
All is good the second time, starts no leaks etc.
So on to the next task, HEAT.
Basically I could feel hoses and tell that there was no water going into the Heater core. So I pulled the hoses and flushed 24 years of rust and sediment
out of the core.
Put it back together and it refused to start, I did have copious amounts of water hitting the coil area. So after cranking a few minutes it finally started and settled into a nice idle like all is kosher.
So Thats fixed right, almost.
I pull it back in the shop to fix the brake lights.
Simple fix, run wire from acc socket on the fuse panel and attach it to the brake light switch, and puff got brake lights again.

Now its done for the day or so I thought.

It refused to start again.
I pulled the dist cap and checked for water, nope dry as a bone in there.
Its getting fuel, you can smell it, almost smells flooded.
So the typical cure Wide Open Throttle and crank, it popped a few times, and
misfired, bad enough that it nearly stopped the engine when cranking it over.
Like its jumped time.

So what do you all think?
Just wet and needs to dry out?
Something more serious happened?

Starting to feel like my SHO, I fix one thing on it and two more develop.

its fuel injected the more you try to start the more fuel gets sprayed in the cyls hence the jump timing feal. let it sit and dry out

Fun fun, right.
I've had this thing in deep water and never had an issue with wet before.

Check/clean that connector to the cps there at the back of the manifold. Especially if you got it wet.

That was the first thing I checked. It was okay.

This is going to be related to the coil/dist harness I'm sure.
Just let sit a few hours and see if it cranks up again.

Went back to the shop and for giggles pulled the plugs and gave them a wire brush cleaning on the bench grinder.
Put em back in, cranked it over again this time started to sound better, WOT and it sputtered to life and smoothed down.
Quick trip up the road and back and seems okay.
Not real happy with it atm, it almost has a miss, I think I may have a fuel injector getting weak. Got to find the manual too, I mixed up two of the injector wires, for the #1 and #2 cylinder, I reversed them once already and seemed to smooth out a little but its still not perfect.

Thanks for the opinions.
Best thing is the Mrs is happy to have heat.
