Won't turn over or hold a charge
I fixed my windows by using a paper clip to bypass the lock switch but now 3 days later my jeep won't hold a charge or won't idle. Also feels like a fuel problem. Help me thanks

Take the alt out and take it to autozone or somewhere that will test it. If it is bad I would get a v8 grand cherokee one and mod the bracket like this.

Pictures of bracket are about half way page 1

it may be your battery i just had mine replaced yesterday fee of charge (better have been free its over $100 for a new one)
nothing was wrong with the alt and it charged the battery fine it just stopped holding a good charge and the reserve time went down alot!
have both the alt tested and leave the battery with them for a day and see what happens

Easy way to check the alternator.. start the jeep take a multimeter and put the leads on the battery leads.. when its running you should be reading around 14 volts. if it is just at 12 volts then you know the alternator went bad. the volts should also increase as the rpms rise. Make sure you do not have jumper cables hooked up to the vehicle when you are doing this because then you will be reading the other vehicles volts as well. Good luck!

sorry for the bump, but even when i have my car hooked up with jumper cables to another vehicle i still cant get my car to turn over so i can test my alternator or what not. the only time it will turn over is if i have it jumped to another car and give it gas but as soon as i stop pressing the gas peddle it dies!

I think you need to put a known good battery(charged) in it and then try to start it. If your battery is dead and your alt is not good, this would explain why it dies after you jump it which is that the fuel pump is electric.

put another battery in worked like a charm.. would that mean my new ultima battery is toast or my alternator?

Alternator 99.9% Battery 0.1% Battery is probably good as it is newer and is a dry cell. Take alt and get it checked to be sure

Start it, disconnect the ground to the battery and see if it stalls.
If it stalles you need an alt.
Do you have an amp gauge in the Jeep or a dummy light?
It may be a dead alt and it's running off a fresh batt.. till it's too low.
