Angry Wont turn over. Clicking/acting like its dead?

OK! So last week my Cherokee was having trouble starting. And the battery was OK but wasnt fully charged. And then it just died. So i put in my OTHER battery. Still didnt start. Then I took the other battery to Advance and got it tested and charged. Took it home. It had power. SO i just figured it was the alternator because it was dying.

So i changed it. Made sure everything was good. And what happened? It still doesnt start. I put my battery charger on it and all it does is make it SEEM like its a 110 percent charged battery. But all I get is a really fast clicking noise. **** me off so i took the battery charger off.

And now it seems like the battery is half charged. It'll make the sound like its going to turn over. When your battery is almost dead kinda noise then it starts clicking again.

Yeah I cleaned the battery. I checked all the wires and fuses. I tightened everything down. I even tried to jump it. Its not starting. And the Battery Should be good. And the Starter is new (as of January of this year)

What is wrong and how do I fix it?

Test and see if you have anything pulling power when the jeep is off

I know you sai you checked wires. The ground straps are in good shape? Howndid you clean it? Wipe off terminals or brush em shiny? They need to be bright shiny metal. Use sandpaper or xwire brush. If it didnt jump its a corroded wire or broken/loose ground.

to test if anything is pulling power when off:
1. check the whole jeep to see if anything is on, dome lights, bad door light switch anything, also take key out!
2. disconnect negative (from battery)
3. touch the negative terminal (the one you took off)
to the battery, do this a few times if you see a spark of any kind it will confirm that you have something pulling off the batt

4. OPTIONS/SHORTCUTS, if you add a battery disconnect (about $9) it will solve you battery drain problem but not the cause

really hope this helps

If it didn't start when you tried to jump it off then it might the wire going to the starter. Cross over the starter just make sure the key is on and it is in park or out of gear.

Can you turn the head unit on while the jeep is off?
