i discovered when i was out wheelin yesterday, that sometimes when i shift into 4low with my np242 it will pop out of gear making a bang loud noise and when i does that i still have power to the rear tire but you can hear the front driveshaft spinning in the t-case and no front tires spinning. What gives??

that may be part of the problem

with the drop it makes intermediate shaft on a angle
and the linkage has a hard time pulling it the last little bit to lock into low

they make a bracket to fix the intermediate shaft angle

Your muffler bearings must be worn out! you should replace them, and while your at it, change your headlight fluid, they dont seem to shine as bright at night anymore, and you might as well pick up a quart of elbow grease while your there just to make sure everything goes smoother while your doing this work! Just for good measure get a can of woop-*** too so you can beat up your friends when they make fun of you for trying to do all this!
