Question wont start

My son just inherited an old jeep cj5 from his uncle. its been in the fam a while. its 1975 cj5. I bought new cap and rotor but still no spark to plugs. Does anyone know what i need to do to start it? seems to get a spark to center of the cap but its not quite 12 vdc.

Try the camshaft positioning sensor. In the distributor. Its called the pickup sensor in some circles.

by the way.. This post belongs in the OEM Tech Section.
