Default Wont go in gear?????

My XJ has been slowly getting hard to get in to gear when I have the clutch in for to long . Now it wont go into gear at all . It grinds when I try to get it into Reverse and it wont go in to the forward gears at all. Whats up here , DoI need a slave cyl or some thing like that??????

Does it grind at all going into any of the forward gears? Reverse does not have a synchro so you must shift into a forward gear then go into reverse.

if you don't see any leaks and you are not losing fluid, one of the cylinders is failing internally

94 has the external slave, no need to drop the trans

The clutch master is FULL. it has never made the grinding noise going into any of the forward gears only reverse . Buy now will not go into any gears with the motor running. The clutch felt good and strong , are you sure it is the clutch??? I hope its something dumb like I need to bleed it or need a slave cyl.

I had this happen on a cj once. Ended up being the pressure plate. I would just do a clutch kit. If your sure its not the slave.

Clutch disc and pressure plate were probably stuck together.

I have been checking the EBAY sellers for this part. I can get the master and slave combo for under $150.00 , but are these parts companys any good ? AMS, RHINO PAC, DORMAN, OMIX BRUTE POWER ?????? I have never heard of them before. I can get it for $116.00 from a dealer near me made by AMS, who is AMS ????
