Won't crank, replaced everything this little mind can think of.
So I woke up, loaded my truck up for work, and it was 100% dead. It also wouldn't take a jump.
I took the starter off and brought that and the battery to the parts store where the starter spun up and the battery tested for a bad cell. I bought a new battery. Now I have power, and the car will give me all 'on' lights, but won't crank.
I get dash lights, headlights, BACK-UP lights (not nss?). Regardless I still replaced the ignition switch. Still nothing.
I have 12.6 v at the solenoid of the starter. It can be jumped with a screwdriver.
I took the starter relay out and it looks fine. Brand new.
Is it the NSS? Is there a grounding problem somewhere? So confused....big thanks in advance for any help!!!

It could be your NSS. I had one go out on me and the back up lights still worked. Have you tried to start it in N or wiggle the shifter to see if it will start? Also make sure that you new ignition switch is adjusted correctly.
What do you mean by 'adjusted correctly'? Seems to turn and work ok. It bring dash lights on, radio, etc

When you turn th ekey to on, what does the volt meter indicate?
When turning to Start, what does the voltmeter do?
If the meter drops, the starter is geetting power but won't turn.

Well I test spun it, but I can also jump the car with a screwdriver by touching the solenoid contacts together. So there's enough juice there to turn the motor over.
So the starter works, battery is okay. Is the starter solenoid working? The screwdriver test bypassed the solenoid.
You need to work backwards to the ignition switch and find what's missing.
A schematic would be helpful, do a Google search. Year would help.

It could very well be your starter. I replaced mine and it cranked up no problems.

If you can start the Jeep with a screwdriver it's either your ignition switch or NSS.
I'm betting on the NSS.
Pull it off and clean it and then reinstall it.

So I guess it is the NSS, except the car won't start in any gear when I attempted to bypass the NSS.
I guess I'll take that thing off and clean it. Can't hurt regardless.

I replaced the ignition switch, and still nothing. Except that now my left turn signal goes off for 15 seconds after closing the door...without even the car being in 'on'...ideas?

It's worth pulling and cleaning though. It only takes a few minutes to do.
Be careful pulling it off.
