Won’t start without Turing ignition on and off several times
I have a 96 Cherokee that will not start without turning the ignition on and off several times. Could anybody tell me what the problem might be? I thought it could be a fuel pump issue but when I turn the ignition on I can hear it running for a couple seconds and then it stops. I have to turn it on and off several times just to get it to start.

Your fuel pump is leaking down and losing pressure while it’s sitting. When you turn the key on and off a few times it builds pressure back up which leads to an easier start.
