Default Wiring in new reverse lights

I got some 5" lights from the Harbor Freight for $5 bucks each and the just have your simple + and - wires and I want to hook them up so the come on when I'm in reverse! Has anyone done this or have the wiring diagrams for the stock reverse lamps? thanks

dont add them to go on with the stock lights without a relay.

you can tap off your stock reverse light as it has + and - but make sure to pop in a relay somewhere just in case thats about it

yeah for sure just use the stock wire for the trigger to the relay if not you will be blowing fuses like a hooker

So I never put relays in on mine and have never blew a fuse?? Its been a few years any ideas why or are they just not that important?

if the draw of the added lights is high and the stock wiring can't take it you run the risk of melting stock wiring, connectors and switches. Plus you just added lights to be brighter, with a relay setup they will give the most they can with better wiring and more available juice when you don't have a bunch of connectors and switches in the way like the stock system.

Aaron, since when have you really done proper wiring anyways...you get by with sooo much that shouldn't work. consider yourself lucky. that aux. fan still works pretty good, eh?


but yes, you should have a relay for it.
