wiring diagram? '88
So I got the outside almost buttoned up, just waiting on my Moog Front end steering pack. So since it was nice today, I decided to get inside and pulled all the trim and dash. Let's just say it looks like Macgyver did the electrical. From the driver's side near the liftgate all the way to the kick panel to the dash, there are butt connectors everywhere. Not to mention the rear defrost from the liftgate to the connector last about 6" then splits to 3 smaller black wires and the female connector at the dash is completely gone. Then I have the small problem of 4 female connectors just hanging out at the dash with no mate to connect to. Then there is the problem of a red wire that comes through the firewall at the brake pedal that is just hanging out doing nothing(its broken).
Should I try and salvage what is there or should I go to the JY and pull me new harnesses from the kick plate to the liftgate? I know the connectors on a '96 at the liftgate are different from the '88 as the defrost has a 2 prong and the rest of the wires are done by an 8 prong (not a 4 prong, 2 prong, 2 prong).
Any and all help would be great, thank you.

The wiring diagrams in the Haynes manual, for the '88, is pretty accurate. It is nice to have something in your hands to refer to when inside your Jeep working on it.
Thank You, Looking it up now. The wiring in this thing is a mess. They standard wire for all add-ons. The rear defrost is pretty much defunct. The Black/white wire runs about 6" from the rear, then its cut, ties into the ground and then spliced with 3 smaller gauge black wires which run to the kick panel. The Brown/white striped white runs all the way to the kick panel un-interrupted and ties into a different male connector. I am ready to pull the hair out, I counted at least 8 butt connectors under the dash and in the dash. Not to mention the mysterious lone black wire that runs half way up the passenger side door(cut there) and ends up under the rear seat with a connector.
