First, let me say this: "There are many decaffeinated brands on the market that are just as tasty as the real thing..."

If you don't want to change your wiring at all, you're going to have to mount a Delco CS130 or CS144 (GM Trucks, most pax cars. CS144 can be found in high-end pax cars with lots of power options - Buick & Cadillac come to mind...) and just run the wiring to the new location.

If you're set on putting the ND in (I don't see why - I find the Delcos tend to be more rugged anyhow, and I generally prefer them over pretty much anything else you can find easily,) the best way to go is to get an external regulator rated for marine use - Prestolite makes a good one.

I can't give you a general instruction set on how to wire in the regulator, simply because there are so many options. However, most replacement regulators will come with an instruction sheet for wiring them up, so you're not totally lost.

If you can't find a regulator locally, you can get one from my buddy Rod at San Jose Generator - his contact information is on my site, as well as pricing. Also, I believe I put up general instructions for wiring up the Prestolite - but I know it also comes with an instruction sheet in the box. To get to Rod, scroll down on my main page and click "San Jose Generator" to get to his side of the site. You'll contact him directly - note that he does keep banker's hours on Pacific time (probably his one flaw - his work is top-notch!)
