try PM'ing some of the members here, Ebay, or a pull-a-part yard. Thats it for direct replacement, I don't even think the dealerships carry them. I have heard about somebody that simply replaced the relay inside the box. When mine went bad, I drilled the rivets with a 3/32" drill and popped the case open out of curiousity. Inside is a green board(the thinkin part) and a relay(the workin part) cusioned by some foam. The coils on the relay on mine had a visible burn mark and the coils had become unwound from the break. It doesn't look like a common relay, but anyone who has soldered pipe could solder some wires off the green baord to some blade sockets so you could run an "off the shelf" relay. However, if the green board is bad.....a tv repair shop could fix you up.

Think I might do a write up on modifing these boxes..I kinda owe this forum..they've helped me to no end.

Some of the other names are; Wiper delay module, wiper pulse module, and interrmetent wiper delay module..never heard it called a control unit..interesting..

In a pinch you can disconnect the module and conect the 2 connectors together.XJ's without intermitten wipers are like this.

Water and electrics mixing is not generally a good thing. But the control unit might be recoverable. Even placing the unit on a warm radiator for 24 hours, or in an oven (max temperature 60ºC, 140ºF) will dry the unit. Any moisture within the unit should be able to get out the same way it got in. It might save you a trip to the breakers. If successful, try to identify the water ingress route (and block it).

Wow, you guys just saved my life - I've been driving in an Albertan winter for three months without wipers. This is awesome! Thanks!

NAPA sells the control box for about 25 bucks.

Check the label on it tho... my jeep came with one stamped ZJ and the delay wipers did not work. got the correct used one for an XJ and they work fine now. The JZ/XJ boxes look identical inside and out the only difference is the label and the chip inside must be programmed differently.

Hey hdhp, the module is stuck with velcro under the lower dash to the left of the steering column. It's a black rectangle with connectors on both ends.
