Wiper moves freely

Hello my wiper got stuck in the ice and now the arm swing freely.. but the motor still spins. I havnt even looked at it yet it just happenend.. but anyone have any idea what broke so I can get the part before I get home so I dont have to make another trip into town

The plastic bushings for the links are broken. Go to the HELP parts section at NAPA and look for the bushings, they're about ten bucks.

That wasnt it.. its the thing the wiper hooks on to.. it just spins freely and the thing on the inside moves.. cud I tack weld it? Or does it need to be able to slide sometimes so it doesnt burn the motor out? Does anyone know? I feel like I cud weld it but I dont wanna burn the motor.

Are you wondering about the link that attaches with a nut to the motor, or sumthin' else?

Have you pulled the cowl panel off and taken a look inside?

Yea I looked it there and its all good.. its deffinatly the thing I took thw picture of.. the grooved thing that the wiper goes on to spins but the center peice doesnt

So the ring with the splines is spinning on that center stud? You could try a little tack weld to hold the two peices together, as long as the wiper arm will fit afterwords.
