Default Windshield wipers

Does anyone else have the problem where the drivers side wiper will hit the trim on the side and bottom while in use. They work fine. The sound from them hitting the trim is very annoying. The wipers are one size smaller then oem.

They need repositioned. Pull up on the wiper arm so it is folded out away from the windshield. Slide out tab where the wiper arm connects to the motor mechanism by the cowl vent. Push wiper arm back down so it pushes on the tab you just pulled out, this releases the wiper arm. Wiggle the arm back and forth pulling it away from the windshield. Once its off, rotate it where it needs to be. Slide arm back on and push lock tab back in. Might take a few tries to get it perfect.

The wiper arms and spindles are teethed, so just shift the wiper arm up a few teeth to re-position it.

I have done that numerous times. I got the passenger side to stop hitting the trim drivers side either hits just the side trim or it will hit both bottom and side trim.

Huh weird, have you made sure your wipers are the correct length. Offhand I think mine are 18's

You probably need to replace the bushings in the wiper linkage. An easy job with a Dorman kit from the parts store or RockAuto, etc. There are extra bushings in the kit for other Chryco vehicles. About $6 when I did mine years ago , probably a bit more now.

There are threads on this subject but you will see how it all works when you remove the panel on the hood and expose the wiper mechanism. Use a bit of white grease when you reassemble the linkages.

Moving the arm a few teeth will work. If they start changing their resting position again it's time for new bushings in the linkage.

As mentioned, its the linkage bushings. Peeps been hittin both ends of the sweep for years. So many other noises I really don't notice. I use a 16" wiper, clears plenty for view and the arm spring keeps quite a good pressure in all conditions, speeds, and type of debris. The 16" are cheap and can be replaced when worn out or damaged. Soil and mud take the heaviest toll on the blade edge life. Generally keep the drivers fresh and move the moderate wiper to passenger side (few passengers in the Peep and the pooch really needs interior wipers to keep her windows clear).
You'l have to pull the wiper arms and cowl cover to access the mechanism for bushing replacements. But they will last for a pretty long time even when worn.
