Windshield
I got a 99 xj that have a cracked windshield.
I saw at a junkyard that a 94 or a 95 have a clean and excellent windshield.
Will that fit on the 99? I know fenders and stuff changed in 97, but im not sure if the unibody around windshield area itself changed too?

Get a buddy and piece of piano wire or a guitar string. With one of you inside the jeep and one outside, saw through the urethane adhesive all the way around the windshield to separate it from the body. might be able to reuse the trim, but if you take it to a glass installer to put the new windshield in, a lot of the time they'll use new trim.

Piano wire or guitar string, saw back and forth gently until you've cut all the way around. Then scrape the remaining adhesive off.
I end up breaking the glass about half the time, but it doesn't matter because it's going in the trash anyway.
eta: I see I'm too slow, lol.

Remove mirror.I cut through the adhesive with a wire saw. The new glass must also be installed with the urethane adhesive and the special primer. I broke the glass when I did mine. Think it's better to leave it to the pro's. They have a pretty sweet tool to get the job done. Check it out.
