Exclamation Windows and door locks don't work

My 99 jeep Cherokee windows will not roll down and the doors will lock via the lock button on driver side but will not unlock. Any ideas?

Might be a problem with the front passenger window control switch.

Check for broken wires in the harness that goes to the driver door near the hinge. They like to bend and break. You may also need to check other doors. If this is a recent problem you may get them to intermittently work by trying the switches as you open/close the door.

Had similar issue with door locks on my 99 purchased last October. (Windows worked)

CCKen nailed it on my issue.

For me the solution was simple corrosion on the wiring harness contacts on the switch module inside the interior front passenger door handle. I replaced the module anyway(I had already bought the replacement), but simply removing the connector and cleaning the contacts in the connector and on the switch allowed the locks to function with the original module. Original is now in the parts bin as a spare.

FWIW, I broke every single one of the plastic clips that hold on the door panel removing it, so you might want to gets some of those BEFORE you start. 18 year old plastic gets brittle.
Removing the door panel is not difficult. Doing it while not breaking any clips.....beyond my feeble skill level.

When I replaced the door panel I drilled holes and added a couple of sheet metal screws in a couple of spots(corners) where the plastic door panel was warped. The plastic pins were not tight enough to give a good tight fit. Steel for the win.

I was replacing speakers and adding sound deadening material as well, so I did it all together.

Broken wires in the boot would be worse.

Good to know. Mine work like 98% of the time. Low on the things to do list. Just so everybody knows Napa for the plastic clips. PART # BK 6653282. Had to fix a speaker and replace the drivers control, broken wire and window lock button issue, awhile back and anticipated breaking some.
