Window regulator, fitted but still not closing?
So I bought a new regulator from Rockauto (yup, the cheaper one and not one from Morris or Quadratec etc) and it has an issue...stilll.
I ripped the old one out and installed the new one, making sure all went back in and the glass is free from anything.
The thing is..the new one winds up and down electrically perfectly and quiet....only when the door is open.
When I shut the door and go to wind it up (from when it is completely down) it goes up anout 2" and stops. It seems to move forward towards the front of door where I have to push it back so its in place and it goes up.
When the door is open, it doesnt do this.
I cant work out why this happening? I checked again to see if there is a way something is cutting the window off but everything is in place.
When the door is closed, something is obviously putting weight or something on it to make the window fall forward - but what is it? Would anyone have an idea?

It just stops, but you can see the window leaning forward as it goes up and when its up 2" over the rubber seal it stops, no noise or anything.

thats strange, what i would do first is take the trim panel off and hook up a multimeter to the regulator motor and see if its still getting power when it stops

If you can physically move the window fore & aft so much that it gets jammed up, something is: loose, not mounted, rusted out, etc. Sounds like something is screwed up with the front track/roller.

It is Dorman, I shouldnt have been so cheap. You can move the track when the door trim is off about half inch both ways
