Default Window Noise

I can hear wind noise coming from my back driver side window. The window is rolled up tight. I took these pictures of the window. Is that gap in the molding supposed to be there? I would think so as the other side had the exact same piece missing. Dunno what it could be.

Mine are the same way. I think they dry out and shrink with age. You could try gently pulling them up a little, but they might tear.

Probably the best thing would be to go to a SY and liberate a strip from a donor. Cut to fit and attach with a little 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive.

It just slides down into the door over the years. Roll the window down and pull the strip up.

Yep you are correct sir. However when I go to pull to pull it, it wont budge! It just cracks and falls apart in my fingers, lol. Is there some aftermarket piece to replace? Would it help if I remove the entire door panel to get to it? Like I said, its stuck where it is, any ideas????

If u remove the panel you can get to the bottom of the piece and maybe hook it with something and slide it up. Either that or pull it out and replace it. It's easily replaceable but not sure where to tell you to get the part. Dealer may still have it depending on the year of your XJ. Sure it's available elsewhere too.

Anyone know how to remove the window crank and door handle? I have removed the screws on the door handle but unsure how to disengage from the locking mechanism.
