Winches in the way of Cooling... an issue?
I know that sometime this year I will be adding a winch (probably hydraulic) but am a little concerned with where most winches sit. Has anyone else experienced overheating issues with winches, as far as blocking all too precious air flow?

Haven't heard much (if ever) of it happening with XJs .. think since where the air can come in is so much wider on a Chero (then CJ/YJ etc.) U shouldn't have a problem. Only a best guess since I haven't ran one on a Chero yet.

If your air conditioning doesn't work anymore like most 87's then just pull the condenser out it sits in front of the radiator. But either way I don't think you will have much problems with a winch.

My Off Road Fab winch bumper has the winch sitting in front of the frame rails, actually below the grill and radiator. It works great for cooling efficiency.

I have my Warn 9000xi on a recessed bumper/winch platform and have not experienced any cooling problems.
I live in the South with summertime temps in the 90s and 100s for months. I run the A/C full blast.
BTW, it is an '87 Pioneer.
