I know that i should not test saving money for qulity for recovery hardware but im looking at getting a Smittybilt xrc-10 with steal cable. How well do thos work also does anyone one use them? I do not want to spend a arm and a leg for a winch.

I have an XRC8000 winch and it is very reliable. It has gotten me out of many jams. I have broken the original cable but, swapped it out with a new one and the winch still works perfectly. I have had this winch for a year. I am looking at moving up to an XRC10,000 very soon.

I just bought an XRC-8. I am a casual off-roader. If I get into a tight, though, I need the security of the ability to self-recover.
My "87 Pioneer has a Warn XD9000i that I have not had to use yet. I didn't want to spend that kind of money on the '92 Laredo.
The Warn or the XRC-10 would not have fit my hidden mounting on my new winch bumper. 8000# should be plenty for a Cherokee.
