Hey guys,
I have installed a new wireless winch remote and a new solinoid for my Smittybuilt 9500lb XRC winch. There seems to be an issue with the winch. It's setup to mount into the receiver of my vehicle. Weh. I operate the winch in or out . My ground/ housing shows 1-2volts and no longer appears to be a ground. This is causing the solinoid to short cycle on and off because is sees ground then does not then does ECT. I have bypassed the solinoid and the remote. So power is going directly from the battery to the terminals comming off the winch. This still appears to be occuring. The winch does seem to operate just fine when bypassed no white smoke or overheating. I have disassembled inspected and traced everything with a multimeter with no luck. I spun the electric windings by hand with the meter on the housing looking for a short spot with no luck. It only shows voltage when in operation and the motor is spinning. Am I not seeing something? Is this normal? I have a lot of time in troubleshooting this but we're still at square 1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sorry mate, but I just cant understand what ur saying. I have the same winch though
are you saying it either does or does not work with just the winch motor and battery cables direct ?
Is the unit fully mounted in the vehicle ?
I have no idea how much you know about auto electrics
have you tested with an ohmeter between battery - terminal and winch earth ? (disconnect + terminal first)
etc
