Winch Bumpers
Alright guys with this stupid tax stimulus money I am hoping that after I buy my wife new rims and tires for her car I can convince her to let me buy a winch and so of course..I need a winch bumper. Now I don't care for anything big bulky and fancy..I just want something to hold the winch. I am not a hardcore wheeler but I want to be able to go out and have that piece of mind. Also if someone is in need of a pull I can help them out. So I have been looking at the detoursusa.com backbone system..its simple, looks good, and is inexpensive. Now before I go jumping off and spending the eh..$320ish for it just curious if any of you have seen anything out there you liked that was simple and not overpriced. I really wish I could weld and fab. something up myself...right now I just don't have the time or place to learn. So any suggestions?
Thanks.
Thanks.

C 4X4 is really well made and of a good design. That is the model I used to pattern mine from. I did do mine a little differently but for about half the price building it myself. So if something doen't work I can look in a mirror and see who's to blame. If you can't fab then C4X4 is your best bet.

Yea,I have def. been looking into C4X4 as well. I think when it comes down to it I will end up with the detours. Just looking for some other options that I maybe haven't came across yet.

I'm doing the backbone system with my tax money too. I think it's neat cuz you keep the factory bumper and still have d-rings and a winch. It's also pretty cheap as well.
any particular winch? I'm sticking with the tried and true milemarker 9000. I had one and winched the hell out of it every weekend when we got stuck in the bog (good times) and that thing pulled and pulled. After 2 years the motor gave out from so many pulls so i replaced the motor and it kept on pulling.

I'm pretty partial to AJ's offroad stuff. He has a couple of standard design bumpers or will make a custom unit. He is an awesome guy to deal with.

I also like the T&T/Treks bumpers.
