Howdy Folks -

I think I've been killing ya'll with my driveshaft questions for the past week, but thanks for all of the help.

I'm about to pick up a junker front driveshaft for my '99 Limited. What kinds of questions do I need to ask to make sure that it will fit?

I have a 4.0L automatic with the NP242 transfer case (I think: part time + full-time 4WD). I also know that it's the double-cardon DS.

So I need to know about the donor:

1. Model year
2. Transmission/T-Case info.
3. ?

Is there anything else I need to know or ask? Offhand, are there any front driveshafts that definitely will or will not fit?

Spline counts, overall length, stuff like that.

 

I just received more information:

Donor vehicle is a 1998 4.0L automatic with the NP231 T-Case.

This is for a front DS only. Does anyone know if this will work for me?

 

dont think theres any difference in front shafts all frony axles are dana 30s
