Default Will 4.0 from ZJ fit XJ?

My buddy has a 91 XJ with a 4.0 that's going out. I have a 96 ZJ with a 4.0 that I'm parting out and was wondering if the ZJ 4.0 would be a direct fit or if modifications would need to be done.

the block should be the same but you will have to switch sensors and probably some accessories

Actually, if you treat it like a longblock swap using your manifolds, dizzy etc, shouldn't be tough at all. Your Jeep has the water temp sending unit in the rear corner of the head where the 96 may not. You can drill it or put your sender in an alternate location.
