My Neutral safety switch went bad in my 98 XJ. Upon removal I found it to be broken, completely, and full of mud. I unplugged and removed the entire NSS. I expected I was going to be carpooling to work for a few days until I could grab another one from a junk yard. Until I turned the key. For some reason mine now starts No problem, with the entire NSS/PRNDL range sensor removed. It wouldnt start in gear before (and sometimes not even in neutral or park.) Any Ideas. Only other wierd thing I did was unplug the wires from the t-case and start it once with them unplugged. (the 97+ tcase plug is the same as the -97 NSS plug. I got confused.)
