Default Wierd smell in ehaust?

I have been trying to diagnos my bad MPG, and I tryed to search, but didn't come up with anything.

When I turn off the highway, I have roughly a .25mi stretch of road until my driveway. Every once in a while I will gun it until my driveway.

I tend to notice a smell coming from the exhaust one im parked and get out. It's cold and kind of windy so it's hard to diagnos the smell.

Any ideas?

What kind of smell is it?
Rotten Egg/sulfur?
Sweet smell?
Anything else?

I would say kind of sweet.

What do either of the smells mean?

And would they contribute to the 14mpg ive been getting?

If its kind of sweet it might be antifreeze getting into the cylinders..
Maybe a small headgasket leak.

Rotten Egg or sulfur smell would be a catalytic converter.

Cool, I know my head gasket needs to be replaced. Could this be the reason for the terrible mpg?

I'll pick one up asap.

It might be, Id assume that if water is getting into the cylinders it would require more fuel...
Maybe its fouling your Oxygen sensor too?

Hmm, I'll go get one and do it anyways, and hopefully this has been my problem. I have always thought my exhaust was really white too.

Thank you for your help man! I wish I knew a fraction of the things you do haha.

white exhaust, sweet smell, sounds like a head gasket leak to me... might not be a bad idea to get the head milled while its off just incase it warped a little bit
