Default Why replace both ball joints at same time?

So I have a bad lower ball joint, can move it easily by hand. Going to replace it with a spicer. My questions is why would I also replace the top when it's tight as a virgin before prom night?

It's not broke but fix it anyway???

I can tell you right now I borked the bottom one on accident with a sledge trying to get a junk knuckle off.

I am cheap, and also time is money. What is a good reason to replace the top one if it's not toast?

I am a newb so please educate me, as that is why I am here to begin with.

I can't remember which one it was but one of them has to come out before the other one does, and if you are doing all the work to take the knuckle off it makes sense to replace them both.

Plus if you have to drive to town and rent the tools then you only have to do it once per side as they go bad

Top needs to be out to do the bottom one no matter what.

The tool is unable to work if the top is in due to the threads.

Yup, realized I can't press the bottom one out with the top one in. In order, I took the top one out, bottom one out, top one in, bottom one in.

My Jeep is pretty rusted... so I had to use some mapp heat and a small sledge with the press on to get them out. But replaced them with moogs and putting them in wasn't too bad. Except that press was cheap rental, so I had to use a huge screwdriver act as a wedge in order to press them in evenly due to the angle of the knuckle.
