Default Why is my charging system struggling efficiency deteriatio

The charging system should be in tip top shape since I replace most of the aged component, but it hasnt been the same since I went rain/lake wheeling and water locked it. What may I need? I might start with new battery wire termintals please help.

What I have purchase

-3 month old ? Ultima 117amp alternator

http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...1468&ppt=C0330

-1 month old Interstate battery

http://www.interstatebatteries.com/c...tery_L6%2f4.0L)

I have tried multiple times to clean the battery wire terminals and that is about it. With this stuff im thinking i should be at 14 voltz but it was at around 13.5-13.7 when all was new and it just been getting worse know its at about 13v

Vehicle Electrical components added

35watt HID's for headlights

400watts Hifonics amp

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...HFi-100.2.html

Power Acoustic 1200watts
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...TAX1200-4.html

I know its not actually those amounts for the amp im just trying to provide detailed info.

Grounds can be the root cause of many electrical gremlins. Refreshing grounds is NEVER a bad idea!

You can't just check or look at these grounds. You must remove, scrape, clean until shiny the cable/wire ends and whatever they bolt to. The one on the back corner of the head, and where it attaches to the firewall. Scrape the paint from the firewall. Best to replace that woven cable with a #4 or #2 gauge cable. You can attach the one end to the intake manifold if you would like.

Next go over to the engine dipstick tube stud. Remove the nut and clean the wire ends and scrape the block until shiny at the stud. Reattach tightly.

If you are so inclined, add at least a #6 cable from the negative terminal of your battery to one of the bolts on your radiator support. Scrape the paint off first.
