put a new switch in mine and same thing doesnt work gotta be something in the transfercase

i have a 97 XJ with the 242 and all my 4wd lights have always worked since it came off the dealership. I guess im lucky

Thats what I'm thinking, I looked all over a exploded view of the NP231 and couldn't find what part activates the switch

Not yet, but I haven't had much time to try either, I did take the switch out and stick my finger in the hole, then shifted it to 4wd and stuck it in again and I couldn't feel any thing that changed.

I'm thinking about just putting a switch on the T-case lever and plugging it in the stock plug, so when the t-case is in anything but 2wd it'll turn the light on
