if it had more than 4 leafs in a stock cherokee pack it has an ALL it is also a thick heavy arced, heavy spring rate leaf.

so the 3 inch leafs will have the same number of leafs as stock leafs, but the AAL will have more than either one?

okay now i am confused... are you talking about buying some from online new, or buying some off of craigslist or what??


online it will specify as an AAL or a full pack.

if your looking at a used set you will be able to tell most of the time that there is an AAL. most manufactures paint the leaf info on the top of the main leaf- meaning they are a full pack. stock it is all stamped in the bottom of the small support leaf. so if it has 5 leafs, one looks out of place and there is the info stamped in the small leaf then its an AAL set up

sorry bout that lol, i found a guy on craigslist that was parting out a jeep and said he would give me the lift for 100 bucks if i took it off. so how does rustys ride? i dont want the ride to be too rough, so i guess i will buy new shocks if i have to. shouldnt be too expensive, my dad told me buy the cheapest shocks and they will ride the best, but dont know how much truth there is in that

i love my rusty's coils! i have no expeirence with their leafs as i run a RC bastard pack.

but the coils are the best riding i have found next to the OME coils.

make sure they are the 150 lb spring rate if you are stock up front (meaning no heavy winch bumper and a winch). the 180 lb spring rate might be a little rough but it wont be to bad,


I would grab the lift !!! screw if it is an AAl or not, you can solve that but coil springs shipped alone are about $170...

I bought Rough Country shocks for mine which is the cheapest I could find, (about $35 each), it's a rough ride but I think any shock, even the top of the line Bilstein will ride rough, it's a Jeep.

rusty's shock with the 10 stage valving is actually a really nice soft ride. dampen well and dont really pack up on small fast stuff from what i can tell. Billies are the best for your money, but rusty's are $33 each then shipping

i guess ill go get the lift today then! how much you think a shop will charge me to put the lift on and an alignment?

Will be an arm and a leg to put the lift on at a shop, 4WheelParts wanted $450 to put my lift on, (spacer and shackle), I walked out.

Found a guy on Craigslist who installed lifts in his driveway, he only charged me $150. Scan CL for Jeep mechanics, maybe one will do it at his house for you.

i installed my lift using basic tools (with the right sized sockets and a breaker bar), 2 factory tire jack, a wheel chock, a ratchet strap to help position the axle and a torque wrench. You can do it in your driveway really easily.

the most important thing is a torque wrench and patience.


Just use your head and be safe. but dont you your head to support the vehicle lol

yeah... you see that dent (bubble in the the reflection above the fender trim) that was not caused on the trail..... that was caused by it falling on me at home from no chocking a tire i was in the wheel well and it fell on top of me after a good yank to get a bolt loose... 3 stitchs later i was good and back working on the cherokee tho!


learned the hard way and am luck to only get the injury that i did... could have been alot worse


hope the lift works out for ya man!

well i hope you didn't pay someone to do it I just put a fat Bob's garage shackles and spacers on in the drive way supper easy and looks good and I think the shackles are pretty beefy

i was in the wheel well, a jack under the the the axle with the tire off cause i just had to replace a u bolt and its easier that way. it was hot so i was in the wheel well for shade. I gave it a good yank and it nudged forward just enough to topple the jack, the jeep landed on my head and bent me over with it until it landed on the drum. Btw the drum landed in between my legs. so i could have been the next lance arm strong and a pirate depending if it had moved forward or to the side anymore.

cause i was young and dumb i put it in 4 lo, left it in gear and put on the e-brake thinking that would be enough....

WRONG! use tire chocks!!!!


lesson well learned that day..... headaches are not a nuisance they are a reminder!
