Default Who makes the oem crank sensors ?

I have a 88 4.0 with a manual and I want to know who the manufacture of the oem crank sensor is ? My dealer wants like 150 my cost for it that seems steep to me as all the parts houses are under 50 for it my price I know the dealer part is best but I figure the part from the manufacturer would be the same quality with out the jeep oem box around it. Like the majority of the parts the cars my dealer service are Bosch parts or Valeo it's cheaper to buy from a Bosch dealer than the Benz dealer

Might have been a Bendix part.

Please realize that all parts are not the same. Just like all steaks or TVs are not the same. Stuff can be and sometimes is manufactured to varying quality standards to meet the needs of the wholesale/retail consumer.

Or the price level desired.

I understand that if I go and get say a dura last part vs a factory part there is a difference but say oem is made by Bosch and the after market is Bosch the dealer is going to sell it more because they can and Bosch has made their money on that part already. The final retailer isn't going to be proud of that part it's just going to say Bosch on the box not Chrysler jeep on it. I've done testing with Bosch air masses v Benz factory air mass there both Bosch and they spec out the same but there's a 50-100$ difference for the lil star on the box. Oil filters the same way the factory knew have Benz on the box filter says Mann and the Mann part number get a Mann filter same part number 8$

You're making a church out of a $hit house.

Just get an Echlin CPS from NAPA and be done with it.

Get a PC307 from RockAuto. Made by the OEM folks and adds some advance to the timing.

Advancing the base timing makes my butometer feel like I added 40hp. No joke.

Grab those PC307s while you can. They're discontinued by Chrysler.

Yep. It's identical to the last high altitude CPSs I bought from the dealer. Made by the OEM supplier.

Ok I ordered one I called jeep and told them who I work for and the guy gave me a different price on it this time than last time. Last time I was about 150$ with my dealer discount and this time I'm at 65$ after tax but from rock auto shipped it's 37$ so if it's the same quality like I believe it to be it should be good to go. Cruiser I'm glad you came in here you always have the answer thank you

lol go easy on him CCWorf, he's got a good point. One can get a Mopar branded O2 sensor from the dealer for probably $150, or an NTK from Rock Auto for $32.

It's not NTK, but another brand. Don't make me go out to my Jeep's glovebox and get the name off the Mopar one............

Then again, go ahead. There's a beer fridge out there.

Eh? Pretty sure NTK is the OE for Chrysler. It absolutely is for 97+.

Like Champions. Dealer probably wants $20/plug too

I have an old one that actually says "Renix" on it. I didn't know that Renix was a brand..

Cruiser, if I use a PC307, is high octane fuel recommended?
