i know im really a noob but i cant see my distributor in my 00' xj. my haynes guide kinda describes where it should be but i dont see it. sorry for the dumb question.

You don't have a distributor in your 00, it uses coil packs instead.

haynes manual doesnt say anything about that. this book is starting to seem like a waste, i learn more on here.

Yea, they really don't give enough information on some things. And I hate how it always says "Installation is the reverse of removal" and it doesn't tell you all the little tricks you have to do to put everything back together the right way. It's good for some things, but I learned a lot from the forum.

if you look were you sparkplugs go in head.. you will see a long black thing ontop of all them... thats the coil packs... you take the coil packs off and then change plugs....

no the spark plugs are under the coil packs. you have to pull the coil packs off then the plugs are under it.

As stated before, they sit on top of the spark plugs. Pop them off, and you'll see the plugs. May require removing a few bolts. I'm not sure exactly since I don't have an 00, but no matter what, the plugs will be under the coil packs.

yes there are I believe 4 bolts holding it in.
