Default Where to get grade 8 bolts for suspension

So i went into advance auto parts today and got new shocks for all 4 corners. knowing the bolts in the leafs (which im also doing)are pretty damn rusted i ask if they have any 14mm-2.0 x 120mm grade 8 bolts. he looks them up and says "yea, 32.99 each" so i laugh and say " no bud you definitely looked up the wrong part" so the manager comes over and confirms that $32.00 price tag.

so where does everyone get their bolts when they need to be replaced?
lowes and depot say they dont carry that particular size

If Fastenal doesn't have it, you're probably gonna have to get it custom made. I use them almost every day at work and until I get off into aerospace fasteners or the like, they seldom let me down.

HMMM just re read your OP and its kinda misleading alittle .
Metric fasteners wont be a grade 8 . Thats some SAE disignation(?) Metric stuff is decimal 10.9 or something like that. If you have a caterpillar store near you could get some really bad *** hardware from them but they are $$$. Something as large as your looking for will not be easy to source and I bet not cheap. The whole thread pitch thing is fun too ! I am a pack rat I go to the wrecking yard I keep alot of the fasteners.

Only thing I ever bought from Fastenal was 3 split loom tools for putting that crappy wire loom on. Glad I found power braid wireing cover/protector.

Meh its all good were all learning. I deal with caterpillar and go thru the bolt game as we do not keep metric fasteners in house, (you would think a world wide company would stock proper fastening devices)

At any rate the info you dug up is good to have as someone will surely use it.

Why not? I know Lowes has a section specifically for automotive and a speciality section too. They've had many bolts that I've needed. Care to elaborate on your statement?

Who makes these bolts and where are they made? Never use a bolt that was made in China, they may be marked as grade 8 bolts, but most of them will fail grade 8 requirements.
