I bought a 99 2 door XJ a while back only it has the seats from a 4 door installed which do not fold forward. I have been unable to locate a 2 door seat anywhere, cant even find any scrapyards in the Fort Benning/Columbus Georgia area.

does anyone know of a parts locator service or new production front folding seats I could use?

 

you sure they dont fold down cause you have to pull the seat bottom up first then the back slides down

 

yes im sure, they are straight out of a 4 door. when I bought the vehicle the guy had seats from a grand cherokee in there. because the grand's seats are power and this jeeps are manual, they were just bolted in and non-adjustable. I told the guy this wouldnt do as I am 6'2" and my wife is 5'6". he agreed to replace the seats, but put 4 door seats in that dont tilt forward. now it is a complete PITA to get to the back seat.

i bought the jeep on autotrader while i was in iraq and had a friend store it for several months until i came home. even though im using this as a caveat for my future online transactions, i still need to swap the seats for folders.

The passenger seat from a TJ or YJ folds so you might be able to use TJ or YJ seats.

 

looked for info on this on 3 seperate sites and all i found was one thread and it was the seats from summit with full tilt seat tracks from a jy. seems like it would work

 

Try searching for Mastercraft seats. That is the brand that Stacy David has used in the past while on "Trucks" and on his new show "Gearz".
