I am replacing my ball joints right now and i just put back together the driver side. On the ground left over was a spring that wasn't there before. Where does this go?? Thanks guys. Then again this could be from another car, if that's the case; embarrassing.

I think it might be the retainer spring for the drum brake
That spring looks a little short and to thick to be a spring loaded retainer for the rear brakes.
Here is a pic of a brake kit for the drums. See how many coil loops the retaining spring has in the pic
I would think the spring in your pic goes to some other car or whatever.

Thanks guys. I don't think its from mine, I only touched the front end while doing the ball joints and i don't remember a grease covered spring flying out.
