I am replacing my ball joints right now and i just put back together the driver side. On the ground left over was a spring that wasn't there before. Where does this go?? Thanks guys. Then again this could be from another car, if that's the case; embarrassing. Where does this spring go?-photo970.jpg Where does this spring go?-photo815.jpg

I think it might be the retainer spring for the drum brake

That spring looks a little short and to thick to be a spring loaded retainer for the rear brakes.
Here is a pic of a brake kit for the drums. See how many coil loops the retaining spring has in the pic

I would think the spring in your pic goes to some other car or whatever.

Pull the wheel on the other side and see if it matches anywhere?

That's not from your rig, unless one of the old ball joints came apart.

Thanks guys. I don't think its from mine, I only touched the front end while doing the ball joints and i don't remember a grease covered spring flying out.

Found out, it is an inner component of the stock Upper Ball Joint!
