Where does this ground wire go??
Also CCKen; the wire that I spliced wasn't broke in two. It was a perfectly good wire that I decided to destroy in order to ground it to the door (I'm not a smart one).

I would suspect theat there's nohing wrong with the wiring* or the rear door window motors, but that the driver's door master switch panel is defwctive. Wouldn't be the first time one went bad because of constant use. *Although there have been problems found in the wiring that goes through the loom that goes from the door to the body chafing/breaking from the door opening and closing.
Consider examining this wiring closely and if found okay, consider a replacement master switch panel.
Edit: After reconnecting the Gray/Black tracer wire back together.
