yeah, dont shoot your rims... i have the same wheels RENIXBEAST has on his rig (minus center caps) and panned to paint em flat black, along with all other chrome trims... while im at it, i might as well pick up a front end (hood, fenders, grill, bumper, etc) from a 2000 cherokee (yay for cash for clunker cars.... NOT) and swap that front end on my rig...

I think a set of these...

Would look great if you painted the rims olive drab and maybe left the center section black. Of course you could paint the whole thing OD but I just feel like the two tone would look more authentic. And these are the base wheels for the cherokee, and I imagine that's what the military would have had on their XJs if they ever got any. The US military doesn't seem to go for upgraded wheel options, they just want a round steel thing down there to hold the tires, lol. Looks are an afterthought for them...

Also, when I pick tires, how wide can I go on a stock wheel?
Let me check. May take a day or 2 but I will find out for ya.

since you mentioned wider tires... you're gonna want to get a rim that's 8 or 10 inches wide (depending on how wide of a tire you wanna go), and 4.5" of backspacing or LESS (stock is 5.25" and will rub the LCA when turning with a 31 or bigger).

I would imagine wagon wheels in black or painted would be the best compromise. They are very similar to the stock wheel design, but are available in a variety of widths and back sets and are rather inexpensive. or the cragar soft 8's like what were posted before. That hats on my truck with 33's
